Hekate

Here's some pictures of Hekate, my Brides of Dracula Mina (second version). Liz de-fanged her and changed her lip color for me.

I did her hair, it was a learning experience to learn how to do the half up and half down style with prerooted hair without having to cut anything. I made some "bobby pins" out of jewelry wire to help hold it all together. After getting the up do done, getting the tight curls in it was the easy part.

Hekate is the Lich-Queen of the Sorrowlands... she's just hanging around the Villa's kitchen to cause trouble (as usual)

Ok so I ended up here via a fellow blogger and I am so excited! :) I actually live in Indiana too. Do you mind if I ask around where you're from in Indiana? I am always looking for doll friends and you are certainly the closest I have ever encountered that has such similar interests. (^_^) I'm still flipping through your blog. I love it!!

I live in Lafayette!! That's so awesome that you are from Indiana, whereabouts are you?

This blog is brand new.. people have been pestering me for a while about starting one - I've been terribly procrastinating it so there isn't too much here.

I live in Southern Indiana about 40 minute South of Indy. It's a small crap town. We have a lot of those in Indiana. lol Well you are off to a FAR better start than I was when I first started several months ago. I also procrastinate my face off. It's atrocious really. Heh. (^_^)

Yes indeed we do. I was born and raised in a real piece of crap town and moved to Lafayette for college.. and then just decided to stick around for the time being.

It's just ridiculous how I procrastinate this when I love doing it so much...

Thanks a lot Chynadoll! I can't take credit for alot of my faceups as my partner-in-crime really has the fiddly, picky art skills for it.

The hair work though.. she can't beat me on that! ;)

Yeah, well as much as we love it we also know how time consuming it can be. The tedious nature can become taxing if done too frequently. Everyone needs a breather even from the things they love most. So, what all do you do customization wise? How many dolls do you have in your collection? What sort of doll stories are you and Liz conjuring up? :) Loads of questions over here....does it show? lol

I mostly do hair - rooting, rerooting, and styling. I also build dioramas (though the only one I have up right now is the kitchen). I am learning how to sew with the help of a wonderful friend. I used to paint faces, I still will do the anime style face, but I have sort of deferred painting to Liz as she is incredibly fiddly and gets those great details in.

I have... alot. Haha! I started out with 1/6th.. then I moved to 1/3 BJDs for a few years. I'm paring down my BJD collection in order to fund my renewed interest in 1/6th (which is really much more affordable and enjoyable to me). Right now I have a great deal of 1/6th (I'm thinking fiftish?) and about 10 or so BJDs (not including the ones I am trying to sell). I'm a playing collector and don't like keeping things in the box!

Liz and I already had a successful run of The Manor photo stories at Dollfie Dreamland (which I believe is now shut down). We had alot of readership and people really enjoyed it..!

We are hoping to renew some of our photostorying by switching our characters to 1/6th but we have been working hard on our graphic novel of it (my writing, Liz's drawing.. some of which can be seen http://lixalicious-wip.blogspot.com/p/graphic-novel.html).

Some of it will involve adult themes as the story gets rather dark and I just love sexy stories.. but alot of it is very humorous as well. I love the idea of the gothic romance.

I hope that answered some of your questions! I love to ramble on and on about myself ;)
